We took Bradley Method of natural childbirth classes when pregnant with our first in
2001. It was a very bonding time for us as a young, newly married couple. The
natural process of pregnancy, labor, and birth quickly became a passion for us both.

Since 2002, Amy has consistently worked as a childbirth
educator, taught breastfeeding classes (certified lactation educator with
CAPPA), attended births as a doula, and had the privilege to work alongside and
learn from numerous midwives and doctors.
We had the unique experiences of being commited to
natural birth but having complicated pregnancies. This led us to have open
dialogue with our providers concering our desires. We’ve also dealt with
secondary infertility as we lost numerous babies due to miscarriage. These
complications have not been fun, but have allowed us to expand our knowledge
about pregnancy, the medical world in
relation to fertility and pregnancy, and also educate providers on alternatives
to their standard practices.
ALL our babies have been born naturally without drugs or
intervention! They have been joyous experiences that only drive us more to tell
others about how wonderful birth can be! We’ve birthed in a hospital with
midwives, at a freestanding birth center with midwives, at home, and also had a
planned homebirth where we transported to the hospital and delivered with

our own research, two of our deliveries would have likely ended in cesarean

educate, encourage, and empower other couples on their journey to have a
rewarding birth and become courageous parents.
