Tree of Life: Natural Childbirth & Beyond
husband and I have had four amazing births using The Bradley Method®.
Each of our births was unique. Our first son was born in the spring
of 2006 in the hospital at 35 weeks, five days gestation. Our second
son was born in late 2007 at 39 weeks in an accidental unassisted birth
in the car on the way to the hospital. For his birth we hired an
amazing doula. Our older daughter was born in late 2010, just shy of 40
weeks in a planned home water birth. Our sons were asleep in their
beds. For her birth we opted to have some beautiful birth photography
taken and enjoyed the benefits of placenta encapsulation. Finally, our
youngest daughter came into the world through homebirth on April 8,
2014. Her oldest brother and sister were able to witness the birth with
the help of an amazing birth/sibling doula, and our middle son woke
shortly after to meet his littlest sister. Pictures of her birth were
captured by Kristy Powell Birth Photography. Having such varied
experiences gives me unique perspective and enriches the instruction
and doula services I offer.
More about me: I hold a Masters of Education and am a
licensed NYC public school Dramatic Arts teacher. I've been
a La Leche League Leader since 2010, leading with both the Hackettstown, NJ and
Staten Island, NY
groups. In the past I helped found the Skylands, NJ chapter of BirthNetwork National, a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of the Mother-Friendly Childbirth Initiative, and led monthly meetings with them as well.
My family and I moved from NYC
to Budd Lake, NJ
in 2009 and we absolutely love living here.
I am a life long student and self-titled birth and conference junkie. I love doing community theater and knitting,
and I’m interested in all things holistic and natural parenting.
I am so passionate about birthing without fear and I feel
completely honored to be able to help other families during one of the most
amazing, life-changing milestones they’ll ever experience.
