Rob and Danielle Hartley have two children and hopes for a large family! Both their son and daughter were born in hospitals without the use of medication or unnecessary medical intervention.
The labor and birth of their first baby was joyful and life changing. They were able to move smoothly through the course of labor employing the skills they learned as students of The Bradley Method. However, like all labor and births theirs did not go exactly according to their birth plan. Yet, with the knowledge they gained from their Bradley instructor, Rob and Danielle were able to make quick, truly informed decisions, and use natural techniques to work together with medical professionals for their son's arrival.
The very quick birth of their daughter came after a precipitous labor - which is labor lasting less than 3 hours. Rob, knowing the signs of labor and using his coaching skills, was able to identify that this was a faster than normal labor. He was able to get Danielle to their birth place just in time for the delivery of their daughter. He also helped hospital staff best care for Danielle by providing key information at the time of birth during some intense moments.
Rob and Danielle made Atlanta their home for many years and both graduated with Master's Degrees in Economics. They have spent time overseas in Rwanda where Rob worked in Micro-finance and Danielle worked for World Relief. Since returning to the States, they have lived in Lancaster, PA where their son was born and Knoxville, TN where their daughter was born. Lexington is now there home for several years to come as Rob pursues his PhD in Economics at the University of Kentucky. Danielle and Rob have gained much experience by learning how various cities and communities approach pregnancy, labor, & birth.
