My name is Dori Ross and I would love to be your Bradley instructor! For the convenience of my students and to keep class size small, I have two class times and TWO locations that will hopefully serve everyone's needs. Tuesdays 6pm-8pm in the Highlands and Thursdays 6pm-8pm in the East End of Louisville.
I have 3 children, 13yrs., 8yrs., and 6 yrs. My first birth had every intervention you can imagine. I had pitocin, IV narcotics, epidural, cathetar, internal fetal monitoring, artificial rupture of membranes, episiotomy etc. I pushed for over 3 hours and was minutes away from having a c-section but somehow managed to push her out in my last few minutes. I was completely medicated but this birth was the most painful experience of my life. I knew there had to be a better way!
I knew that I was going to do it different the next time. A friend of mine told me about The Bradley Method®. I was hooked from that moment on! I took my classes and loved them. My teacher mentioned that painless childbirth was possible, but not promised. I was determined to be one of those pain free moms! I did all the work, trained, and had the painless childbirth that I was convinced I could have. That birth was the most beautiful experience of my life. I couldn't wait to tell the world about it!
My next birth was another painless labor and was one of the most fun things I have ever experienced. My little boy was literally laughed into this world!
I love birth and I TRULY believe that ANY woman can give birth naturally, with OUT DRUGS, if given the right information and the proper training. All women joining my class already have everything they need within them to have the birth experience that they want. It is my job to build the confidence in my students to be able to trust their bodies and to work WITH their bodies. In doing so, women find that they don't NEED drugs. I also believe that painless childbirth is possible. Once you take the fear out of childbirth, mom is able to relax mentally and emotionally letting physical relaxation take place. In doing this, it GREATLY reduces what some may call pain in labor. Fear causes tension...tension causes pain. Take the fear away, you take the tension away...you take the pain away. Labor is hard work, but it doesn't have to be the excruciating experience that tv, our moms, and grandmas have made it out to be!
Come give Bradley a try! I'd love to be your teacher!
