My goal is to inform expectant parents about comfort measures they can enlist during labor to reduce tension and avoid interventions and medications, thus increasing the likelihood of a natural, unmedicated vaginal birth. Nutrition, exercise, and relaxation are focused on to create a foundation for a healthy and confident childbirth. Couples learn about the mechanics of labor and birth, and patterns of emotion that often reflect what is taking place within ones body. We also create birth plans and devote an entire class to Life with a Newborn, including bathing.
Classes are held in my home on Sunday afternoons in the Edgewater neighborhood on Chicago's North side.
