I teach on Monday evenings, from 7-9:30pm at my home in Cary. My average class size is 8 couples.
My classes are a mix of lectures, videos, demonstrations, guest speaker presentations, small group exercises, role playing, and relaxation practices. Several guest speakers attend throughout the series, including a massage therapist, a pediatrician, a doula and a certified lactation consultant. Each couple receives the student workbook and class handouts during the 12-week series. A reference notebook containing current articles, research, statistics, and birth plans is on loan to each student for the duration of the series. My library of books and dvds is also available for students' personal use.
We have a pot-luck dinner during the series to allow more time for casual discussions and to get to know your classmates better. I plan a reunion for each class after everyone has had their baby so we can all get back together again and take lots of pictures!
