Katie has always been intrigued with children, pregnancy and birth.She first heard about Dr. Bradley's view on natural childbirth in high school and decided natural birth sounded like the way to go. After looking into various classes with their first pregnancy, Katie and Andy decided that Bradley Method classes were the best fit: an all inclusive class covering pregnancy, birth and bringing home a baby. She absolutely loves teaching other couples the info that has helped her enjoy the birth of her own children. The classes are a lot of fun too! Andy definitely felt in the end that 12 weeks of class was worth it. He was not afraid of the process of birth and felt prepared to help Katie. He bonded with his son through being involved in pregnancy and birth and Zach has always been really close to his Daddy. Katie and Andy feel that their own relationship was strengthened through working together in this important time. They love to help other couples enjoy their pregnancies and births--together. **Bradley Doula services are also available. Katie has experienced both hospital and home birth for herself so she is able to help couples in either category. |
Bradley Classes are all inclusive; healthy pregnancy, healthy birth, healthy baby and mom. We focus on the Natural process of birth with approximately 86% of Bradley couples having a natural birth. Classes Include: *Nutrition and Prenatal exercise *Ways to avoid unnecessary pain in labor *The stages of birth, how to work with your body in each stage *Choices in health care *Creating a birth plan *Deep relaxation skills *After birth care for mom and baby *Breastfeeding *The "coach" learns how to support and assist the mother throughout pregnancy and birth. The Bradley Method gives husbands or partners the most understanding of his role in order to be an active participant in the birth process. Classes are 12 weeks, generally held on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening. We have fun in class and enjoy meeting other couples! Please contact us with questions and additional info about classes. | The standard Bradley® series is designed for small classes with lots of individual attention. The standard length of the classes is 12 weeks covering 12 units of instruction. The Student Workbook is included in classes. It is 130 pages with over 75 pictures and illustrations. A coach card is also included. Your local Bradley® teacher is an independent affiliated instructor. Some classes are video enriched and offer a Certificate of Congratulations. |
