Welcome to the personal web site of
SHANNON & KEITH KLEE AAHCC

Both of my sons, Ryan and Patrick, were helped into this world with the Bradley® method, each in his own special way. Ryan came on his own schedule, with no drugs. It wasn't easy- certainly not a fun activity I'd choose on a rainy day- but afterward I wondered what all the fuss was about! I certainly wouldn't have wanted to do it any other way. Patrick's story was different. Along with some other complications, he decided to go for a swim at week 40 and ended up in a 'transverse lie'- a very rare, but dangerous, complication. Thus, he had to be born by Cesarean section. Everything turned out all right, and I found that the Bradley® method was extremely helpful, even through my spinal and the surgery, in a number of indirect ways. I'm grateful for the training I had, for both of my births; it reinforced to me that the goal of the Bradley® method is, indeed, a healthy baby, a healthy mother, and a healthy family.

Bradley® classes are extremely comprehensive. One of the biggest impacts I noticed for myself was that, even after the first class, I felt much less afraid of the labor and childbirth process. I came to understand so much about labor and birth, and healthy ways to respond to it, that I simply wasn't afraid any more. Removing my fear turned out to be 99% of the battle won! Knowledge truly was power. Bradley® classes will teach you about, among other things: -optimal nutrition in pregnancy -pregnancy changes, and how it all affects you -all of the stages of childbirth, and healthy, comforting ways to work through each one (including lots of practice) -the supportive, critical role of the father or coach during childbirth, and how he can help -deciding your priorities and coming up with a birth plan -the benefits of breastfeeding -normal, healthy childbirth, and why drugs should be avoided when possible -variations of the norm- what to expect when complications arise. A Bradley® class can be an ideal experience for those families that desire an enthusiastic teacher coupled with a smaller class size. The personal attention not possible in a larger-sized class will be an advantage for you. In addition, as I am already an instructor in adult education, I'm looking forward to sharing my knowledge with you in the thorough, effective, professional manner with which I am so adept in my other classes.
