Hello and welcome to my site! Congratulations on your pregnancy! Thank you for your interest in The Bradley Method®! We got pregnant with our first child in 2001 and took a Bradley Method® We went on to give birth - the Bradley® way, naturally - four times and with four totally different experiences. Our first son, Benjamin, was born in a hospital in 2001. The experience was great but when we were pregnant with our daughter, Hannah, in 2003 we decided to go to a birth center. The birth center was just what we had hoped and wished for it to be, however with our third birth (2005) we opted for a homebirth. The homebirth surpassed both of our expectations. What a peaceful and beautiful way to bring our little Noah into the world! And most recently, our newest member, Rebekah, joined us in February 2009. For this last birth, we planned a homebirth from the beginning of the pregnancy and succeeded in a beautiful experience for Mom while the other three children watched along with their Daddy. With each birth we gained more knowledge and confidence for what we were looking for in our birth experiences. We are always learning. Knowledge is power...especially today. Hope to meet you soon! Be empowered... Take my class!! |
What is hypovolemia? How do you know if you have pre-eclampsia? What does the pelvic floor have to do with labor and birth? What is a fetoscope and why is it a good thing? What is the coach’s role? What is the difference between analgesia and anesthesia? Is there a difference between physical, mental and emotional relaxation? When should I go to the hospital? Which medications are totally safe in pregnancy? What are the signs of transition? Which ultrasound is pulsed, and why does that matter? Are you familiar with the natural alignment plateau? What does the bloody show look like? If you are hungry in labor, can you eat? Dilation, presentation, effacement, & station, are these important? What is the cycle of fear, and how can you avoid it? ~~~~~~~~~~~~ These are only a small handful of questions that we answer in our Bradley® classes. I am not a doctor, so I do not practice medicine. I'm not associated with any particular hospital or birth center. I provide the information that you need to help you become an empowered birthing consumer. I teach you to be informed of your choices. You will also learn about: Nutrition, relaxation techniques, important exercises, the three stages of labor, basic newborn care, breastfeeding, and communication between you and your partner as well as with your birth team, amongst a whole bunch of other topics that we cover. |
