If you are reading this, then you are on the path to planning one of life's greatest moments. For many of you, this will be a journey in which you transform from maiden to mother. Sound a bit "granola"? It's not! Whether you are birthing in a hospital, birthing center or at home, this is an opportunity for you to join others who are planning a joyous labor and birth. I have been teaching for nine years and have taught over 300 couples. As a requirement to renew our teaching credentials each year, we must try and attend at least one birth. I have had the privilege to attend close to 200 births over the last seven years, and continue to do so. I draw on this experiential knowledge to illustrate how the lessons learned in class apply to real birth situations. It is my hope that you birth with confidence and with joy! Kelly Valceanu, AAHCC |
