Class
size: In person classes are limited to four couples. Zoom classes are limited to four couples. A small class size allows
me to tailor fit the class to your needs. Whether you are considering a homebirth or a VBAC a small class allows us to address what your specific needs might be in labor. Also, a
small intimate setting makes couples feel more comfortable to ask questions
they otherwise might not if in a large group. Birth is a profoundly personal experience
where we address many points that may be considered culturally taboo. This
setting allows you to pose any and all of your questions.
Location: Classes are held in my home in Tacoma, Stadium District and also on Zoom! Want a class closer to home? Ask me about hosting a class in your area.
Class dynamics: You
will play games to test and solidify your knowledge, and engage in various
labor rehearsals to practice techniques learned in class. You will
have guest speakers in class, as well as hands on access to touch and see a
pelvis, and uterus (model). Some women need to see for
themselves that a baby's head does in fact fit through the pelvis!
You will also have the opportunity to watch videos with real people
having real, joyful, births! You may laugh, you may cry, you may even be
surprised!
Private
Classes: Private classes are available. If you
are interested in having a private class, please contact me so that we can
coordinate a time. This is an excellent option for families who may have unique circumstance or history that would benefit from a tailored class.
Length: Classes
are 2 hrs; once a week; for 12 weeks. Refresher classes are available too!
