Home   About Me   My Classes   Why 12 Weeks?   Course Content

My classes are informative and fun! Class sizes are kept small to allow for individual attention. Whether you plan on birthing in the hospital, at a birth center, or at home; this class covers all birth settings.

Why are my classes 12 weeks long? Because I have a lot to share with you! This is, by far, the most comprehensive birthing class you can take! The series will cover:

  • Ways to stay healthy and low risk
  • Well-balanced pregnancy nutrition
  • Exercise
  • Relaxation techniques
  • Being comfortable during pregnancy
  • 1st and 2nd stage labor/labor rehearsals
  • Writing your birth plan
  • Drugs and interventions
  • The coach's role
  • Variations and complications
  • Newborn procedures
  • Postpartum care
  • The advantages of breastfeeding
  • Baby care

Concepts are reinforced with hands-on practice, games, discussions, and videos.

When do classes meet?

Next Series: Wednesday, January 17.  It is best to sign up between week 23 - 26 to ensure you complete the 12 weeks.

Where do classes meet?

My home in Northwest Raleigh, between 440 and 540. When you register, you will be given the exact address.

What is the cost of the series?

Please contact me for current rates.

How do I sign up?

Contact me via email or phone and I will give you information about registration and payment options.

What if my partner cannot attend all (or any) of the classes?

Whenever possible it’s best if your partner can attend every class with you; however, we understand this is not always possible. If you or your partner cannot attend a particular class, we encourage the other person to attend class and bring the information home.  If your partner cannot attend due to scheduling conflicts you are also welcome to bring another labor support person who will be present at your birth.

What If I Don't Have a Partner?

Single moms are welcome!  You can bring a friend or family member with you to be your labor support coach if you want to but it's not required.

How Do I Find Out More?
