Hello! A few
tidbits about me and how I became a Bradley teacher...
I am
married to Joe, my husband of 16 years, and a mom of five! Four earthly children and one angel baby waiting on us in heaven. I carried our angel for 20 weeks before I gave birth to him and had to say goodbye. How miraculous and precious growing and having a baby truly is! That experience changed me in so many ways. I share this not to instill fear, but in hopes that I can be a light, a hug, or a word of hope to anyone that may experience the same heartbreak. Words cannot describe how grateful I am for my family.
In the day-to-day routine, we keep busy with homeschool lessons, baseball, basketball, and church activities throughout the year. What an incredible joy (and responsibility!) to raise a family and watch them grow. The years go by way too fast!
As for my journey with The Bradley Method®...
When I
first found out about The Bradley Method® in 2010, I was pregnant with my first and was
already six months along. It wasn't until taking The Bradley Method® classes that I became passionate, free of fear, and confident about childbirth! Before that, I
was full of anxiety about giving birth. We learned how to choose a supportive provider (switched practices at 6 months along!), about our birth options, partner encouragement, and much more. Our birth was transformed into
something I could not have even imagined. My husband was able to support me emotionally and physically completely until we
welcomed our healthy baby boy into our arms (28 hours later!). It was the hardest thing I've EVER done, but I
never felt alone. And I did it! I was thrilled that I was able to have an unmedicated,
natural birth and that what we had learned had worked! We then enjoyed
our beautiful son together as we stared in amazement that he was truly ours.
It was a captivating bonding experience between us that I will always
cherish. With our subsequent babies, I felt empowered to give birth naturally again. While my babies were born with unique experiences, I was able to have natural births with all of them - in the hospital, at home, and also at a birth center! (For local people, I gave birth at Mercy Fairfield, Bethesda & Natural Beginnings). I am always happy to share more about my personal experiences if you have questions.
I am
genuinely thankful for what I have learned. And after my experiences, I could
not wait to become a Bradley® instructor and birth doula. I love teaching and
being alongside expecting couples during this special time. I hope to help many others in their pregnancies and birth journeys!
