I note great results for my students who practice labor comfort techniques with their partner. In each 2 1/2 hours class, we devote 30 minutes of time practicing relaxation and labor comfort skills. Couples see even more benefit in increased skills when they practice relaxation at home and study the Bradley materials.
Classroom instructions include: Couple and group discussions - Visual learning from DVD videos, models and charts - breathing, relaxation, and fitness techniques - massage techniques - acupressure - demonstration, return demonstration of comfort measures - lecture, and couple-focused activities during class.
