In 2017, I was pregnant with my first child. I knew that I wanted to prepare my mind and body for a natural, unmedicated birth, but I didn’t know where to start. I spent hours reading books on pregnancy and childbirth and listening to podcasts that featured positive birth stories. While listening to a popular birth podcast, I heard about The Bradley Method®. I immediately did some research and signed my husband and I up for a class. Through Bradley™ classes, I learned how to support my growing body and baby through proper nutrition and exercise. When the time came, I was able to surrender to the process of labor, relax, and birth my baby in a hospital without medication. The classes were also invaluable to my husband as he learned about what my body would go through during pregnancy, labor, and delivery, and how to support and coach me through childbirth. In 2019, we found ourselves pregnant with baby #2. We utilized everything we had learned in our previous classes to have another beautiful, empowering birth - this time at home. In 2022, we welcomed our third child, unmedicated, and surrounded by loved ones at home.
I believe that when it comes to pregnancy, labor, and childbirth, knowledge is power! In society today, not all women (or men) know every detail surrounding the process of pregnancy and childbirth. I wholeheartedly believe preparation for birth is an essential part of the path to an incredible birthing experience. I am excited about equipping expectant parents with this knowledge so they can start on their journey to having a natural birthing experience with little to no interventions so long as they do not experience any medical complications. I want every couple to be able to advocate for themselves and their babies.
Beyond being a wife and mother, I have a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida in Biology and Psychology. I also love to cook and bake. You can, more often than not, find me in the kitchen with my kiddos baking cookies or rolling out tortillas. I also enjoy singing and playing my guitar, going on nature walks with my family, and enjoying a cookout with friends.
