To say that birth has changed me would be a gross understatement. It has shaped the trajectory of my own life, and has left me with an unshakeable hope to change normal American birth culture from a scary, misunderstood process to an empowering, safe, transcendent experience for all women everywhere.

My daughter, Marin's birth in August 2012 first lit the spark in my heart to do birth work. After the birth of my son in 2014, and while balancing life at home with small children, I began doing doula work and teaching the Bradley Method in 2015. In 2018, I began my midwifery training, and this year, completed it with my certification as a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) and license to practice in the state of Tennessee. I celebrated my graduation from midwifery by having my third baby, Noah in March. I am now back to teaching the Bradley Method after a brief maternity leave and this September, will begin accepting community-based clients for midwifery services.

"Although the popularly desired outcome is 'healthy mother, healthy baby,' I think there is room in that equation for 'happy, non-traumatized, empowered, and elated mother and baby." - Midwifery Today
