About Me

Hello!  My name is Emily McMichael and I am a childbirth educator, birth doula, lactation counselor, and student midwife.  As a mother, I've experienced my body's amazing ability to give birth multiple times without medical intervention.  I’m on a mission to share this joy and the empowerment of giving birth with other birthing people.  As a former K-12 teacher and university instructor, I have a passion for the importance of education and self-advocacy.  I firmly believe all birthing people should be well-prepared for birth in a way that decreases fear and helps them to have the birth they want, whatever that may be.  This is why I teach Bradley®. I bring my experiences with natural birth and my passion for education with me to class to ensure The Bradley Method® series will be fun, encouraging, and informative for you and your chosen birth partner. 

I am passionate about The Bradley Method’s® mission--healthy birthing people, healthy families, and healthy babies--because it is what helped me to have the births I wanted for myself and my family.  This course will teach you what you need to have your best pregnancy and birth, and it will teach you how to do it naturally if that is what you desire.  When you sign up for my classes, you can expect as much one-on-one assistance in addition to my classes as you need during your pregnancy.  I am available, easily reachable, and excited to work for YOU!

I take pride in offering my course to all pregnant and birthing persons as well as their chosen birth coach.  Respect for the birthing person’s identity and autonomy is at the heart of my Bradley Method® classes.  I am inclusive of all parents.

Ongoing support with a birth service provider you know and trust is important during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. 

 I am happy to additionally provide doula, breastfeeding, and postpartum assistance if hired by my students.

The Bradley Method® of Natural Childbirth standard series is designed for small classes with lots of individual attention. The standard length of the classes is 12 weeks covering 12 units of instruction. The Official Student Workbook is supplied to every couple attending classes. It is 130 pages with over 75 pictures and illustrations. A Coach Card is also included. Your local instructor in The Bradley Method® of Natural Childbirth is an independent affiliated instructor. Some classes are video enriched and offer a Certificate of Congratulations.
