Congratulations on your pregnancy! I teach the Bradley Method® because it works! I am married to an amazing man, husband, and father Will Snyder. I am a stay-at-home-mother of three Bradley® birthed children, two beautiful girls, Natalie born 3/1/2006 and Alivia born 10/26/2007 and our baby boy, Pierson born 6/29/2010. I have three drastically different birth stories, Natalie was born in the hospital with necessary medical interventions, Alivia was born via a water birth, and Pierson was born at home completely naturally! We also grieved the loss of our fourth child by miscarriage in 2015. The Bradley Method® thoroughly prepared us for our own births, and the outcomes of each were so excellent, I chose to become an affiliated instructor to help others have wonderful birth experiences. I love teaching the Bradley Method.
My encouragement to first-time expectant mothers is this: A woman's body was designed to give birth. The notion that women cannot handle what their bodies were naturally meant to do during a normal pregnancy and labor simply isn't true. The Bradley Method® teaches expectant mothers and their coaches to tune in and work with the laboring body to help maximize strength and endurance, while reducing pain.
Variations to birth plans occasionally arise, but those who have taken care of their bodies throughout pregnancy, have learned how to make informed decisions, and know how to work together with their birth team, will still have beautiful birth experiences!
The key to successfully having a natural birth is preparation.
Think of it this way: If you knew that nine months from now, you were going to participate in a serious athletic event, would you sit on your couch and relax until the big day? No! You would take care of your body and do everything you could to get ready.
Birth is an athletic event. Bradley Method® classes teach more than "what to expect during a birth," they also help to train the body for an optimal birth through purposeful nutrition, prenatal exercise, and relaxation techniques. Labor rehearsals throughout the classes also help couples practice working together as a team.
Over the course of 12 weeks, fathers build confidence as labor coaches as they gain an understanding of pregnancy, birth, naturally managing pain, making informed medical decisions, and learn how to help encourage a calm, joyful atmosphere in the birthing room.
The goal of our classes is, “Healthy moms, healthy babies and healthy families.”
I'd love to serve you please join us! My heart for building strong families starts with supporting pregnant women and their coaches by providing training for parents in preparation for the miracle of birth and the journey of parenting. I am a Bradley Method® certified Childbirth Educator affiliated with the American Academy of Husband Coached Childbirth since 2007.
